They are known for being a sultry deep red but are also found in a variety of warm colors.
The garnet family is one of the most complex in the gem world, it comprises multiple species and varieties. In this family, you will find stones in a variety of colors such as green, red, yellow, orange, and the most rare blue.
Here at Macha Studio, our garnets predominantly come from Tanzania in a deep red color. We also love Rhodolite garnets which display an intense raspberry color.
Care- Garnets are a very durable stone, rating a 6.5-7 on the Mohs Hardness scale, and are best stored separate from other gemstones to avoid scratches. Clean with soap and water and a soft cloth to buff.
