Sunstones are the birthstone for July and August. Two of the months are most closely associated with the Sun within the United States. The sunstone is a semi precious stone that is often associated with the radiant energy of the sun. Signifying leadership, courage, and promotes spiritual healing within many different cultures.
Sunstones are available in an array of colors but mostly consisting of colorless, salmon pink, red, and pale green. They are usually darker in the center and become lighter in color toward the outer edges. Sunstones often encompass a glow of pure copper flecks enhancing the uniqueness of each stone.

Care: Sunstones are softer stones, rated a 6.5-7.2 on the Mohs Hardness Scale. They are best cared for by cleaning with warm soapy water and drying with a soft cloth. We advise the wearer to avoid harsh chemicals while wearing these stones as they are particularly soft. They are best stored in dry cool conditions. These stones aren’t recommended for everyday jewelry, but make amazing statement pieces.
